Why Do We Need Space?
“Mommy is in time out.”
Anyone else do this? Give yourself a time out? Yesterday was one of those days for me. A series of unfortunate events and frustrations led me straight down a path to “hot wreck mom”. It was not pretty. What I needed was a time out – space to collect my thoughts and adjust my attitude. As we say down here in the South, BLESS.
When we fill our days with many things and many people, we can find ourselves crowded out by the urgent. Whether it’s our own sense of urgency or the demands of those around us, panic can set in. The increased stress can give way to the hair-trigger responses informed by our fear. We can quickly spiral from annoyed to out of control. That was my yesterday.
It is a new day. There is no fear of yesterday because my sins are covered. The perfect love of Christ has driven away any sense of fear. His light, driving away that darkness. His peace quieting my heart. His mercies restoring my soul.
Why Does Scripture Say?
1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
What Will You Do?
